Molly Meyers is 46 years old, single and owns her own home. Her hobbies are reading, cross-stitch, jigsaw puzzles, crossword and 'logic' puzzles, and crochet. She has lived in Jenison, Michigan a suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan for over 20 years now. She grew up in Bellaire on Intermediate Lake, a small town in Northern Michigan. At that time there were between 800-1,000 full time residents, with the population rising during the summer months. Molly grew up with one older sister, and two older brothers.
She has been in the workforce since she was 10 years old. Her mother was a registered nurse, and her father owned the local pharmacy. Back then, unlike today, it was okay for children to take part in family businesses at a very young age. At the age of 16 she became a pharmacy technician working beside her father during weekends, summers and holidays. She worked in the pharmacy until she was 25, at which time her father sold the family business and retired. After attending Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, Michigan and finishing her degree at Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, Michigan she moved to the Grand Rapids, Michigan area.
Molly received her degree in Elementary Education with a double minor in Natural Science and English. When she first arrived in Grand Rapids she began working as a pharmacy technician, then went into the fast food industry, quickly moving up the management ladder. When she was asked to take over her own store, she knew it was time to move on to something else. That was when she began working for Michigan Family Resources – Kent County Head Start. After 5 ½ years at Head Start Molly began working for PAACT in July 2001. During her time at Michigan Family Resources – Kent County Head Start she was Rick Profit’s assistant for 3 ½ years. At present, Molly plays an integral role in the day to day operations: including newsletter layout and editing, bookkeeping, telephone calls, research and anything else asked of her. Combined Rick and Molly have worked together for over 16 years. Co-Founder - Michigan
Janet was the wife of Lloyd Ney, founder of PAACT. She assumed the position of President and Chairperson upon Lloyd’s passing on August 19, 1998. Lloyd’s final request of Jan was to continue the work that the two of them began with PAACT. Upon his passing Jan Ney stated “PAACT will go on. We have a very capable staff with many people, including doctors, who contribute to the organization on a regular basis. Due to health problems Janet stepped down as President and Chairperson, but remains an active member of the Board of Directors. Her son Richard H. Profit, Jr. was appointed President and Chairperson at that time and remains in that position today. ” Dr Stephen Strum put it so eloquently in his eulogy. “Lloyd was hardly for himself. Lloyd would have perished years ago if it were not for the love and caring of his wife, Jan Ney.
Jan was the perfect mate for Lloyd. For every strand of DNA there is a second strand that reinforces the structure and integrity of the other strand. So it is with Lloyd and Jan. Lloyd never would have succeeded without Jan. The praises in the past and in the present to Lloyd Ney are equally bestowed upon Jan Ney. As I have told Jan many times, she is one of the angels that are easily identified on the earthly plain.” Besides being involved in PAACT Jan’s many hobbies are reading, a passion for keeping her lawn and flower gardens beautiful, playing cards and golf. Jan also loves spending time with family, especially her 9 grandchildren.
